Executive Committee

HEURO Global is managed by a team of Executive Officers who are elected by its members at the Annual General Meeting or co-opted during the year.

A number of Committee members represent HEURO Global on a number of important stakeholder groups. A complete list of our representations is available in the Members Area under Member Login.

The Executive Committee meets at regular intervals and maintains contact with its members through the use of the HEURO Global jiscmail lists and at the Annual General Meeting.

Professor Michael Rosier
University of Hertfordshire
Co-Chair

Michael is Professor Emeritus of International Education at University of Hertfordshire. He was until recently Director of International Education and formerly Associate Dean (International Education and Accreditation) at Hertfordshire Business School. He has substantial experience in international education, both nationally and internationally, particularly in internationalisation, mobility, partnership development and business school accreditation. He is a member of the General Council of the European Association for International Education (EAIE). He has previously held posts in programme management at Hertfordshire and in Norway and was a visiting lecturer in France.

Rowena Kidger
Cardiff Metropolitan University
Co-Chair

Rowena Kidger has been working at Cardiff Metropolitan University for over 19 years and is the Global Opportunities Manager within the Global Engagement Directorate.  Rowena is responsible for managing and leading all aspects of the University’s outward student mobility initiatives. Rowena aims to increase and offer global opportunities, both physical and virtual to all Cardiff Met students.

Catriona Hanks

Catriona is the Head of Study Abroad and International Student Support at University College London and has worked in international higher education for 13 years in the UK and overseas. She is currently responsible for outbound exchange and short-term mobility, exchange partnerships and UCL’s participation in the Turing programme, as well as international student support for full degree international students.

Claire has worked in international higher education for over 15 years and is currently Global Opportunities Manager at the University of Sheffield. She currently manages the global student mobility programmes for the University of Sheffield with responsibility for student exchange, short term programmes and leadership of the institution’s participation in the Turing Scheme.

Becca started at the University of Edinburgh as European Programmes Manager in September 2022, following roles at the British Council and several charities. Passionate about internationalism throughout her career, she has built and developed relationships with partners across Europe, North America and Asia.

Ruairi is the Global Opportunities Development Officer at Queen’s University Belfast. He has been working within the HE & FE sector for over 12 years. He is currently responsible for developing international mobility programmes and opportunities for Queen’s students. Ruairi really enjoys interacting with students and seeing the personal and professional development they gain from an international experience.

Alastair Melville

Alastair has been Study Abroad and Exchange Manager at Manchester Metropolitan University since 2020, with responsibility for managing outbound exchange programmes. Before working in the HE sector, Alastair spent almost a decade working in secondary Modern Languages education across the North West. Increasing access to life-changing study abroad opportunities is close to Alastair’s heart.

Chelsea has worked within the international Higher Education sector for seven years at a variety of HE institutions and currently oversees Global Mobility Opportunities within the University of the Arts London. With expertise in international mobility, her interests are driven by her desire to remove barriers to accessing international opportunities, as well as addressing strategic issues and implementing change within, and for the sector.

Currently working at Birmingham City University, Lucy has experience working at two other Midlands universities. Professor Gabriele Vosseberg

Adviser to the Executive Committee 

Prof Gabriele Vosseberg, MBA SFHEA is Deputy Director, Education & Internationalisation, at Newcastle University.

Gabriele’s involvement with international activities started in 1995. Her experience includes leading on the internationalisation agenda for various business schools, formulating institutional internationalisation and partnership strategies, as well as developing Double/Dual Award frameworks, student exchange programmes and initiating faculty wide set-ups of faculty/staff exchanges.
